Yarn and material direction
Materials for your knitwear collection
BELA TREND supports knitwear projects in merino, wool and lambswool, cotton, and wool/acrylic blends. Material selection is discussed as part of the product brief, with the yarn and construction reviewed for the individual garment rather than treated as a fixed catalogue choice.
Current material families
Four material routes for project discussion
Merino
Merino is part of the current material capability. The specific yarn and garment construction are reviewed against the individual brief before sampling.
Wool & lambswool
Wool and lambswool projects are supported. Yarn choice, construction and production suitability are confirmed for the style rather than assumed from a photograph or reference garment.
Cotton
Cotton is one of the material families available for knitwear development. The project brief and sample stage are used to validate the chosen yarn direction.
Wool/acrylic blends
Wool/acrylic blends are also supported. The final blend and yarn specification remain project decisions that need to match the garment and production requirements.
Material selection
Choose from the brief, then validate in development
A material name alone does not define a production specification. We review the garment concept, intended use, construction, gauge direction and yarn availability together. A tech pack, physical sample, photo or idea can provide the starting point for that discussion.
BELA TREND can support yarn selection and sourcing as part of private-label development. Compatibility between a particular yarn and a particular construction is validated for the project; we do not claim that every supported material is interchangeable across 5G, 7G and 12G or suitable for every style.
Sampling and availability
Confirm the material direction before bulk production
The first sample typically takes 2–4 weeks, depending on the brief and yarn availability. That range refers to the first-sample stage, not to a promised bulk-production lead time. The sample gives the project team a practical point for reviewing the selected garment and material direction before later production planning.
If a yarn is not already defined, sourcing support can be included in the project. Availability is checked against the brief and schedule rather than advertised as permanent stock.
For a useful first material review, include the garment type, expected quantity, target timing and any reference already available. If the yarn is specified in a tech pack, we can review that requirement; if the project starts from a sample, photo or idea, the material direction can be discussed alongside development. This keeps the yarn conversation connected to the actual product rather than separated into an unsupported list of generic fibre claims.
Turn a material direction into a production brief
Share the product type, estimated quantity, material direction and the project information you already have. We can then review the material route alongside the manufacturing requirements.
